Our Mission

Extended Hands, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing food insecurity and strengthening communities across Prince George’s County. Rooted in service and driven by compassion, we work to ensure that individuals and families have access to the resources they need not just to survive—but to thrive.

We believe that food is a basic human right, and access to it should never be a barrier to opportunity, health, or dignity.

Our Core Principles

At Extended Hands, Inc., our work is guided by a set of core principles:

  • Dignity: Every individual deserves respect and access to basic needs

  • Equity: Resources should be accessible to all communities

  • Compassion: Service rooted in understanding and care

  • Sustainability: Solutions that create lasting change

  • Community: Stronger together through collaboration and partnership

Our Impact

  • Serving 1,500+ residents

  • Supporting 900 families weekly

  • Reaching vulnerable populations including seniors and veterans

  • Expanding access to food, resources, and long-term support systems

We are not just addressing hunger—we are creating opportunities for stability, growth, and empowerment.
